F.A. Youth Cup - Preliminary Round
Rocester 4 Bromyard Town 0
The young Romans booked their place in the 1st Qualifying Round with a handsome win over their Herefordshire opponents.
Rocester looked the stronger team in the first half and deservedly went in at the break a goal to the good thanks to Aden Johnson's wonderful 25-yard strike that gave the Bromyard keeper no chance on 35 minutes.
Sean Dunion put Rocester firmly in control when he doubled their advantage ten minutes into the second half with a deflected shot that looped up and over the goalkeeper.
Six minutes later Johnson recoded his second and Rocester's third goal of the night with another good finish - this time a shot from out on the right that dipped under the bar and inside the far post.
Matty Redshaw, who had earlier smacked a shot against the underside of the bar, claimed number four with a run and shot from 18 yards.
Yannis Onnouri also came close to scoring when he placed the ball over the goalkeeper only for it to bounce back off the right-hand post.
All in all this was a good performance from Rocester, who will now face either Chasetown or Bedworth United at Hillsfield. |
