Rocester’s reserve team were narrowly beaten 1-0 by West Midlands League Division One side Bilbrook in the semi-final of the Staffs F.A. Challenge Cup on Saturday.

Paul Tortoishell fired a shot into the side-netting early on but that was as close as the Romans got to a goal in a dour game that saw few chances at either end.

The tie went the way of the Wolverhampton-based team when they were awarded a dubious penalty midway through the second half after Neil Bennett was ruled to have handled the ball inside the area.
