ROCESTER FOOTBALL CLUB PEN PICTURES 2007-08

DEAN LATHAM (D.O.B. 19/04/86) Dean was with Stoke City as a junior before going on to represent Staffordshire at U-18 level. More recently he has played for Newcastle Town and Norton United before joining Rocester in August 2007. Currently employed by Stoke City, Dean is a UEFA 'B' Licenced Coach.

PAUL WOOD (D.O.B. 27/11/75) Very dependable goalkeeper who was on Derby County’s books as a youngster. Joined Rocester during the 2004-05 season after being out of the game for a couple of years. Paul lists Stapenhill and Heanor Town among his former clubs.

CARL ALLEN (D.O.B. 08/02/83) Left back who joined from Ashbourne United in 2004. Team captain, Carl made his 100th appearance for the club at Coalville Town in December 2006. Won both the Players' Player and Supporters' Player of the Season awards for 2006-07.

DAN SMITH (D.O.B. 13/10/86) Talented right back who was signed from Nantwich Town in September 2007. Dan was with Stoke City as a youngster before moving into non-league with Leek Town and Nantwich.

DAVID BROWN (D.O.B. 13/12/78) Central defender signed in August 2006 from Leek C.S.O.B. A fine striker of the ball, David was short-listed for the Player of the Round award by an F.A. panel after scoring a cracking winner against Leamington during an F.A. Cup Qualifier in 2006-07.

MARK RUDDOCK (D.O.B. 02/08/84) Central defender who signed for the reserve team in 2004 after being spotted playing in Sunday football. 'Razor' progressed into the first team during 2005-06 where he has also played as a centre forward with some success. A strong and versatile player with a great attitude.

BEN HENDERSON (D.O.B. 01/09/87) Highly rated young centre half who joined Rocester in August 2007 from Stafford Town. Ben played Youth team football for West Bromwich Albion and also had a short spell with the Stafford Rangers U-18s side.

NEIL BENNETT  (D.O.B. 01/09/80)  Central defender who joined Rocester in February 2007 from League of Wales side Buckley, where he helped them finish 2nd, 1st and 2nd in his three seasons with the club. Neil spent 18 months with Birmingham City as a junior, and he has also played for Fleetwood and Burscough.

GLYN DOUGLAS (D.O.B. 24/01/78) Left-sided midfielder who has come through the reserve team after being spotted playing for Sunday side Uttoxeter Town. A reliable and competitive player who is a good talker on the pitch.

RICHARD OWEN (D.O.B. 22/02/68) Long-serving midfielder who has been with the club for almost twenty years. Richard made his 750th appearance during October 2006, and is still full of enthusiasm and encouragement for the younger players around him. A Fantastic club servant.

MARTIN HEATH (D.O.B. 30/09/83) Central midfielder who played for Biddulph Victoria for two seasons before joining Rocester in July 2007. Spent two years with Stoke City as a youngster before spells with both Leek C.S.O.B. and Stone Dominoes. Martin also represented Staffordshire at U-16 and U-18 level.

MARTIN GADSBY (D.O.B. 15/02/84) Creative midfielder who spent four years on the books of Derby County before being released. Another player who has successfully come through the reserve set-up at Rocester to force his way into the first team reckoning.

RORY MAXWELL (D.O.B. 26/01/89) Young attacking midfielder, Rory has quickly forced his way into the first team after signing from Stone Dominoes prior to the 2006-07 season. He has represented the Staffordshire F.A. U-18 side.

LIAM SOWTER (D.O.B. 03/09/88) An attacking midfielder who signed for Rocester in July 2007. Liam spent three years on the books of Derby County before joining Burton Albion for a season. He has settled in well at Rocester and is beginning to push for a regular first team spot.

PAUL MILWARD (D.O.B. 19/08/83) Equally at home on the left or right side of midfield, Paul signed for Rocester in July 2007 after a three-year spell with Ashbourne United. Was with both Derby County and Port Vale as a youngster, and also represented Staffordshire at U-18 level.

ASHLEY SHERIDAN (D.O.B. 25/10/79) Signed in August 2007 from Stafford Town, where he had played for over four years. Ashley is a match-winner on his day, a creative player with an excellent touch and good vision. Represented Staffs Schools before moving into the non-league game with Stone Dominoes and Biddulph Victoria.

DAVID SHAW (D.O.B. 21/10/77) Experienced forward who signed from Leek Town in November 2006. Played Conference North football for Lancaster City, and lists Congleton Town, Kidsgrove Athletic and Stone Dominoes among his former clubs. Started out as a junior with Stoke City and was also on the books of Crewe and Port Vale.

GARY BEARDSLEY (D.O.B. 29/01/86) Quick and skilful forward who joined Rocester in October 2007 from local football. Gary spent eight years on Stoke City's books before switching to Burton Albion's youth team for a season.

MARK HODSON (D.O.B. 29/08/86) Energetic forward who battle for every ball. Mark spent three years with Stone Dominoes, working his way up to the 1st team before moving to Meir K.A. for a year.  However, his chances were limited due to injuries and he eventually signed for Rocester at the start of the 2006-07 season.

TOMMY SMITH (D.O.B. 03/03/87) Tenacious and hard-working striker who is another product of the club’s reserve team. A former Burton Albion youth team player, Tommy made his Rocester debut during 2004-05 but since then he has spent much of his time sidelined through injury. He has made a huge impression since making his comeback in November 2007.
