ROCESTER FOOTBALL CLUB PEN PICTURES 2008-09

Richard Froggatt (D.O.B.   /  /  ) Experienced and much-travelled goalkeeper who recently rejoined the Romans from Leek Town. Was a member of Rocester’s Midland Alliance championship winning side in 2004.

 

Paul Wood (D.O.B. 27/11/75) Experienced goalkeeper who was on Derby County’s books as a youngster. Joined Rocester during the 2004-05 season, and has proved himself to be among the best in the business at this level. Paul lists Stapenhill and Heanor Town among his former clubs.

 

Chris McComisky (D.O.B. 27/10/86) Central defender who joined in November 2008 from Rushall Olympic. Chris represented the Staffordshire F.A. at U-18 level when he was with Hednesford Town, and he then spent over a season with Stourport Swifts before linking up with Rushall earlier this season. He has already made a big impression at Hillsfield.

 

Josh Butler (D.O.B.11/01/89) Left Back signed in November 2008 from Midland Combination side Newhall United. Josh spent three years with Burton Albion where he played youth and reserve team football, helping them win the National Conference Youth League and the League and League Cup 'double' with the reserves.

 

Darren Bullock (D.O.B. 14/10/88) Central defender who broke into the first team in October 2008 after joining the reserves two years earlier from Ashbourne United. Local lad Darren has also played for Holt JCB in the Staffs County League. 

 

Matt Walker (D.O.B.   /  /  ) Former Stoke City youngster who joind Rocester in October 2008. A central defender who has impressed whenever he has been called upon.

 

Neil Edwards (D.O.B. 06/02/88) Former Leek Town and Kidsgrove Athletic defender who was signed from Biddulph Victoria in December 2008.

 

Daniel McLeod (D.O.B.   /  /  ) Right Back recently signed from Brocton.

 

Alex Hook (D.O.B.   /  /  ) Central defender who began his second spell with the club at the start of this season. Alex has also played for Shepshed Dynamo.

 

Martin Gadsby (D.O.B. 15/02/84) Martin is a creative player who spent four years on the books of Derby County before being released. He successfully worked his way up from the reserves at Rocester to cement his place in the first team, and played a big part in the club's 2008 Staffordshire Senior Cup win.

 

Richard Beech (D.O.B. 11/09/85) Central midfielder signed in November 2008. A strong competitor with a good all-round game, he has settled in quickly at the club.

 

Karl Charlton (D.O.B. 19/08/83) Began his second spell with the club in December 2008 when he signed from Staffs County League side Chesterton. A central midfielder by choice, although he has proved to be just as effective in defence or up front. 

 

David Williams (D.O.B.   /  /  ) Attacking midfielder whose previous clubs include Gresley Rovers and Shepshed Dynamo. Signed in November 2008.

 

Ashley Sheridan (D.O.B. 25/10/79) Left-sided player signed in August 2007 from Stafford Town, where he had played for over four years. A match-winner on his day, creative with an excellent touch and an eye for goal. Lists Stone Dominoes and Biddulph Victoria among his former clubs. Ashley played a major role in Rocester's 2008 Staffordshire Senior Cup final win.

 

Ben Buckley (D.O.B. 27/12/84) Left-sided midfielder signed in January 2009. Ben comes with a good goalscoring record at his former clubs who include Meir K.A. and Ashbourne United.

 

Christian Dacres (D.O.B. 20/06/87) Central midfielder signed in December 2008. Christian played Conference football for Stafford Rangers after working his way through the youth and reserve teams at Marston Road. He has also played for Nantwich Town, Alsager Town and Stone Dominoes.

 

Mark Hodson (D.O.B. 29/08/86) Energetic forward who battle for every ball. Mark spent three years with Stone Dominoes, working his way up to the 1st team before moving to Meir K.A. for a year.  However, his chances were limited due to injuries and he eventually signed for Rocester at the start of the 2006-07 season.

 

Lee Baillee (D.O.B.   /  /  ) Recent signing from Midland Combination side Newhall United. Midfielder Lee was previously with Burton Albion.

 

Ben Carr (D.O.B.   /  /  ) Young striker who is another product of Rocester’s reserve team set-up.

 

Tommy Smith (D.O.B. 03/03/87) Tenacious and hard-working striker who was a product of the reserve team. Tommy made his debut during the 2004-05 season but an 18-month injury lay-off restricted his progress. He helped Rocester win the Staffordshire Senior Cup in 2008 before starting the 2008-09 season with Leek Town. He rejoined the Romans in October.

 

David Shaw (D.O.B. 21/10/77) Much-travelled striker who had represented most of the clubs in and around the Potteries before joining Rocester from Leek Town in November 2006. Helped Rocester win the Staffordshire Senior Cup in April 2008 before rejoining Kidsgrove just two months later. He returned to Rocester in November 2008.

 

Adam Hewitt (D.O.B. 03/04/90) Striker signed from local football in November 2008. Adam spent five years as a junior with Stoke City, and represented Staffordshire Moorlands District as a schoolboy. He has already enjoyed a lot of success in Sunday football, and is now looking forward to testing himself at a higher level with Rocester.

 

Matthew Redshaw (D.O.B. 05/01/93) A prolific goalscorer as he progressed through Rocester’s junior teams, Matt made his first team debut from the substitutes bench at Tipton Town in January 2009. 

 

Alan Beaman (MANAGER) Alan began his second spell in charge in October 2008. A former Rocester player, he led the club to three league titles and a number of cup wins during his first stint in charge between 1984 and 1992.
