We have received the very sad news that one of our players, Ben Buckley, has taken his own life over the weekend.

Ben, who was only 24 years old, signed for Rocester just three months ago after previously playing for Meir K.A. and Ashbourne United.

He was thrilled to join Rocester and test himself at a higher level, and in the short time he was with us Ben became a very popular and likeable member of the squad.

An injury sustained at Bridgnorth Town last month restricted him to just seven appearances, but he was due to return to the squad this week.

Words are difficult to find at a time like this, all we can say is that Ben was quite simply a lovely lad who always had a smile on his face - even when he could hardly walk with his recent injury. He took a short time to make a lasting impression, and he will be sadly missed by everyone at the club.

Our sincere condolences and thoughts go out to Ben's friends and family at this very difficult time.
