Under 9s - Mid-Staffs Junior Football League - Division One.

Game 1 - Eccleshall Eagles 4 Rocester Elkes Eagles 1

A game for the top two clubs chasing the title. It all started well with Sam Chilvers converting a penalty to go 1-0 up, but we conceded a freak goal when Marcus the goalkeeper bent down to claim a ball that was running past his post and it bounced up hit his shoulder and deflected in.

Then from a corner Hannah jumped and the ball hit her in the waist and deflected in.

We then hit the bar and chasing the game lost another goal. One of those nights.

Game 2 - Longton Bulls 0 Rocester Elkes Eagles 2

This was a must win game to keep the pressure on Eccleshall at the top. and the team set about the game with a gritty determination.

Longton were a much improved team but we took the lead from a corner which dropped to Ollie Smith's feet and in it went.

Then Sam came up with another goal to seal it.

Many more chances came our way with a free kick from Harry cooper just missing the goal and the keeper blocking everything.

The team bounced back well and with three games to go it is ours to win. Well done.
