Under 15s - Burton Junior Football League - Friel Homes Division One.

Stretton Eagles 1 Rocester Elkes Eagles 5

After last weeks positive performance at Newhall, REE travelled to Stretton on Sunday afternoon hoping to keep alive their title hopes.

The game started with both teams enjoying possession but without creating any real chances in the first five minutes, but then a Stretton free kick ended up in the net only to be correctly ruled out for handball by the Stretton forward.

Eagles then immediately broke up field and went ahead when Jeremy Redlar charged free to finish into the far corner.

REE should have gone two ahead in the next minute, Bradley Price shooting wide in front of an empty net from 4 yards.

Eagles did go two ahead on 10 minutes when Sean Dunion stroked the ball into the corner of the net from 12 yards.

Eagles then contrived to start missing chances, which in turn kept Stretton in the game, and seven minutes before half time Stretton pulled a goal back when a long ball was not dealt with by the Eagles midfield or defence, enabling the Stretton centre forward to run on and score.

HT 1 : 2

Eagles started the second half a little lackadaisical and Stretton should have equalised when their centre forward pulled his shot just wide.

Eagles were still pressing forward in waves and went three up in 55 minutes through Matt Redshaw, and then a rocket of a shot from 20 yards by Bradley Price made it 4-1 in the 62nd minute.

Ross Bentley scored number five in the 68th, and Eagles still had more chances to increase the lead but were foiled by some great goalkeeping by the Stretton keeper.
