Under 15s - Burton Junior Football League - Friel Homes Division One.

Edge Hill Red 0 Rocester Elkes Eagles 15

Eagles travelled to Stapenhill on Sunday to play Edge Hill Red, looking for a positive reaction following last Sunday's shock league cup semi-final defeat.

Eagles started with a back three in favour of the usual back four combination.

From the Eagles kick off, Edge Hill were gifted the opportunity to go ahead following some lackadaisical play but the Eagles survived what turned out to be Edge Hills only real chance in the first half.

From that moment on Eagles played the game in the Edge Hill half and only some poor finishing prevented Rocester from going ahead.

But in the 10th minute Matt Redshaw scored and Eagles started to look really comfortable.

Redshaw completed a quick fire hat-trick with further goals in the 13th and 18th minutes, and was then replaced by Joe Handforth.

Eagles scored four more in the first half through Ross Bentley (20 & 28), Bradley Price (26), and Sean Dunion (29) as they totally dominated the game.

H/T:  0 : 7

The second half started exactly as the first finished with Eagles completely on top and Bentley completed his hat-trick on 50 minutes only to be replaced again by the free-scoring Redshaw.

Changes were happening quite regularly as the players were given different opportunities in varying positions, and further goals soon followed from Redshaw (53, 55, 65 & 68); Jez Redlar (60); Bentley (72) and Dunion (78).

F/T:  0 : 15

Credit must go to the Edge Hill lads who battled continually throughout the game despite only having ten players and without really being given any respite.

Team: M.Jessup; M.McCarron; G.Sucksmith; M.Sanders; J.Redlar; H.Coley-Fisher; B.Price; A.Johnson; R.Bentley; S.Dunion; M.Redshaw. subs( used) J.Handforth; L.Mills.

Next Sunday Eagles are away again, to Newhall Tigers, kick off 10:30 at Newhall.
