Under 9s - Mid-Staffs Junior Football League - Division One.

Firstly on Mothering Sunday a big Thank you to all parents for taking the time to bring your boys and girls to the games.

Match One

Rocester Elkes Eagles 6 Stonefield Warriors 0

Back to the league campaign and a chance to go top of the league if we got the right results as we were catching up our two games in hand.

Straight from the kick off in very blustery conditions the team attacked the opposition and we were soon ahead, pushing on to 4-0 by half time.

In the second half we had the wind at our backs and a training ground exercise payed off with great effect. Marcus Bloor, our goalkeeper, was told to get the ball up field to the strikers from his area quicker. So with the wind behind him he caught hold of one and after two bounces the Stonefield keeper missed it and Marcus had scored.

A further goal from a neatly placed header from Harry Cooper gave us a comfortable 6-0 victory.

Goals: Marcus Bloor, Sam chilvers (2), Harry Cooper, Oliver Ford and Jack Green.

Match Two

Rocester Elkes Eagles 2 Longton Bulls 1

A tougher game on a pitch with the wind going across.

some good play gave us a 1-0 lead with a goal from Jack Green, but we then got caught with a scrappy equaliser before the team got the winner in the second half from Sam Chilvers.

There were many good performances and but for some good saves we could have won by 3 or 4 goals.
