Under 15s - Burton Junior Football League - Friel Homes Division One.

Rocester Elkes Eagles 2 Rocester Juniors 0

Rocester Elkes Eagles met Rocester Juniors in their first league encounter this season having met previously in the divisional cup with Eagles running out 11 nil winners. Since then Rocester Juniors have signed some additional players and they started this game with a more defensive line up.

From the start REE attacked, playing some neat passing football. Chances came and went without Eagles being able to breach a stern Juniors rear guard.

With Juniors playing just one up front we reverted to a back three and pushed Lee Mills forward, and that gave us an  immediate improvement as Mills' running off the ball created havoc for Juniors.

Eagles took the lead after 12 minutes through Ross Bentley, who calmly flicked the ball over the oncoming defender and despatch a neat finish inside the post from around 15 yards.

Bentley then put Eagles two up after 23 minutes again with a neat finish inside the post.

REE continued to attack for the remainder of the half, however couldn't find a way past Glover in the Juniors goal

H/T 2 : 0

The second half was a carbon copy of the fist half with Eagles missing numerous chances to increase their lead. The Juniors only had a couple of chances but weren't really able to worry Jessup in the Eagles goal.

F/T 2 : 0

Eagles will need to become sharper in front of goal if they are to remain a threat in this division. Chances are being made in every game, however at present they are not being taken. Defensively the team is looking solid, however keeping clean sheets does not always win football matches.
