Under 9s - Mid-Staffs Junior Football League - Division One.

Match One

Rocester Elkes Eagles 3 Longton Bulls 0

The Eagles were at Longton straight from the kick off, not allowing them time on the ball and matching them challenge for challenge.

The referee was busy with free kicks, but we enjoyed the majority of the play and were rewarded with an opening goal.

This was then consolidated with further goals from Jack Green and Sam Chilvers, but five minutes before half time Longton called off the game as they were down to bare minimum players due to illness and a couple of their team were carrying knocks.

The result was given to us 3-0.

Match Two

Rocester Elkes Eagles 4 Penkridge Juniors 0

The team started their second match in the same manner as the first, and had the majority of the play - peppering the goal and having two cleared off the line.

Eventually we opened the scoring, but then we stuck for a while and that niggling feeling started about getting caught on the break.

A second goal arrived which took the pressure off and we again started to play some nice passing football.

At the end of the game Sam Chilvers had his hat-trick with Ollie Ford getting one.

The team played both games very well and two good victories put us in a strong league position.

Man of the match game one was Oliver Smith and game two was Sam Chilvers.
