Under 9s - Mid-Staffs Junior Football League - Rydal Division One Shield.

Firstly Happy New Year to all the team and parents and trust we all had a good Christmas!!!

Match One

Rocester Elkes Eagles 3 Hawkins Sports 2

Our first game back after a long break, Christmas and the weather have made it seem a very long time.

The team were all very eager to play and at times we seemed very rusty compared to previous games but this was made up for by a lot of enthusiasm.

A very close game, an own goal from Hawkins, a corner deflected in from Sam Chilvers and then with the last kick of the game Sam scored a lovely goal into the top corner to win it.

Match Two

Rocester Elkes Eagles 1 Longton Bulls 3

This was a totally different game to the previous meeting against the Bulls.

What turned into quite a physical game was not going our way after a long range top corner goal set up the win.

The team were very down after this game but next time will bounce back and repeat the previous 8-2 result we gained against them.
