Under 9s - Mid-Staffs Junior Football League - Division One.

Match One

Stonefield Warriors 0 Rocester Elkes Eagles 4

This was a very good game and in our favour, very one-sided with Sam Chilvers, Ollie Smith, Jack Green and Fordy (Ollie Ford) ensuring we ran out comfortable winners 4-0.

The keeper for Stone did extremely well and stopped a few good efforts to keep the score down.

Well done team (boys and girls) - a great start!

Match Two

Wheaton Aston Junior 0 Rocester Elkes Eagles 0

The next game was against Wheaton Aston, who were a much sterner test.

Again I felt we had the better of the game and many chances to get the win, however we had to settle for a 0-0 draw to put us second at this very early stage of the season.

This was a little disappointing to the team having won twice before against them and by good margins.

All in all this was a very good start to the league, the team all played very well giving every effort they could.

They should have great belief in their ability and if they keep on in this way there is no reason why they cant do very well in this league - possibly even winning it!!

Early days, but you have got to have confidence in your team.

Again well done to all the players, but this weeks player of the week goes to JORDAN HIBBERD for a very solid display of defending with confidence on the ball - even when three forwards were in pursuit and you were going towards your own goal only to turn away and clear it.!!!!
