Falconer Thunderbolt Wins It For Eagles

Stretton Swifts Yellow U10 1, Rocester Elkes Eagles U10 2

Kane Falconer’s last gasp effort gave the Eagles a much needed win against mid-table rivals Stretton Swifts Yellow in the Burton Junior League U10 Div 3.

In a close fought match REE trailed 1-0 at half time but turned things around in the second half, helped by an excellent performance in the heart of midfield by Joel Wain and the attacking pace of Kane Falconer.

Early in the second half, George Tomlinson showed great composure to equalise when the ball fell to him on the edge of the box and he buried it into the far corner of the net.

With less than a minute remaining on the clock, a clearance by the Stretton goalkeeper fell to Falconer who instinctively unleashed a thunderbolt shot into the top corner of the empty net to win the game.
