Rocester Elkes Eagles 4 Stretton Eagles 'A' 0

Rocester Elkes Eagles overcame a strong Stretton side in the wind and rain at Abbotsholme School on Sunday morning.

Kicking against the wind and in driving rain, the Eagles had to be resolute in defence for the first half.

Jessup stopped a couple of good chances for Stretton with two fine saves, but REE were by no means out of the contest.

REE took the lead after 30 minutes with Matt Redshaw heading home an Aden Johnson corner.

Conditions improved slightly in the second half as the wind died down, however the rain continued.

REE went two ahead, again through Redshaw, who finished with composure.

Aden Johnson made in three when his turn and shot from a corner went in off the post.

Johnson's first of the season was followed by another first when Henry Coley Fisher completed the scoring, he burst through the defence and gave the keeper no chance with a blistering right foot drive.
